It’s time to normalise renting. It should’t be seen as something that people are “stuck” doing because they can’t afford to own their own home. Renting can quite often be an intentional (and smart!) option for many, so lets look at 6 benefits of renting and why professionals and “financially able” families choose to do it.
It allows you to get into certain school zones for a short period of time
If you run a business or work from home you have the ability to claim a portion of your rent.
You can afford to live in a fancy suburb that you may not have been able to afford otherwise.
You have the flexibility of moving around to suit your lifestyle at the time. Think beachside living one year and country oasis the next.
Renting can allow you the opportunity to live in a larger house that you maybe wouldn’t normally be able to afford while owning investments that are within your budget so still building a real estate asset.
You can reduce living costs such as not having to pay building insurance, council rates, water rates, strata levies and maintenance on a property.

In a society where we are all searching for more flexibility and great lifestyles, renting a property should be seen as advantageous, and renting should never have a stigma associated with it, it can be a very smart and sometimes an even better financial decision to do it!
